Market Truth is an independent US consumer publication that checks health product marketing claims against the regulatory record and the published research. This page explains what happens to your data when you read it. The short version: the site collects almost nothing, sets no cookies of its own, and has no forms, no accounts, and no newsletter.

Market Truth is not a government agency, a clinic, a medical practice, or a supplement or device company, and it is not affiliated with the FDA, FTC, NIH, USP, NSF, or any manufacturer or retailer.
What personal information does Market Truth collect?
The site does not ask you for any. There is no signup, no account, no comment section, no newsletter, and no form of any kind. Nothing on the page prompts you to type your name, email address, health status, or payment details, because there is nowhere to type them.
The only personal data that reaches Market Truth is what your browser sends automatically when it requests a page, plus anything you choose to put in an email to the editor.
What is in the server logs?
The site runs on a private server in Germany. That server writes standard access logs. Each entry records the IP address that made the request, the browser user agent string, and the URL requested, along with a timestamp. Those logs exist so the operator can diagnose outages and detect abuse such as scraping floods and intrusion attempts. They are kept for a short period and then deleted. They are not used to build reader profiles, and they are not combined with any other data set.
Under GDPR terms, the legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest in keeping the site available and secure.
What does Cloudflare do with my request?
The site is served through Cloudflare, which acts as a content delivery network and security layer. Your request passes through Cloudflare before it reaches the origin server, so Cloudflare processes connection data including your IP address in order to route the request, cache pages, and block malicious traffic. Cloudflare acts as a processor for this site. Its own handling of that data is governed by its published privacy documentation.
Does the site load anything from Google?
Yes, and this is worth stating plainly. Page fonts are loaded from Google’s font CDN. That means your browser makes a request to a Google server, and Google receives your IP address, your user agent, and the referring page as part of that request. This is a real transfer of data to a third party in the United States. If you would rather not make that request, a browser extension or content blocker that blocks third party font loading will prevent it, and the site remains readable.
Does Market Truth set cookies or run analytics?
No. The site sets no cookies of its own. There are no analytics cookies, no marketing cookies, no advertising pixels, no session identifiers, and no fingerprinting scripts. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to. Cloudflare may set a security cookie in the course of blocking automated abuse, which is a strictly functional use.
What happens to email I send the editor?
If you write to [email protected], your message, your address, and anything you include are stored in that mailbox. Correspondence is kept only as long as it is useful, for example to track a correction through to publication. It is never added to a mailing list, never sold, and never passed to a brand or a third party. Please do not send personal medical details, test results, or health records. Market Truth cannot act on them and does not want to hold them.
Does Market Truth collect information from children?
No. The site is written for adults and is not directed at children. Market Truth does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent personal information by email, write to the editor and it will be deleted.
What are my rights under GDPR?
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to get a copy, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to processing, and to receive it in a portable format. You also have the right to complain to your national supervisory authority. In practice the only data likely to concern you is a short lived log entry or an email you sent.
What are my rights under CCPA and CPRA?
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used, the right to request deletion, the right to correction, and the right to opt out of sale or sharing. You will not be treated differently for exercising any of them.
Does Market Truth sell or share my personal information?
No. Market Truth does not sell personal information, does not share it for cross context behavioural advertising, and has no advertising network. There is nothing to opt out of because no such transfer takes place.
How do I exercise my rights?
Email [email protected] and say what you want. Requests are answered within a month. Because so little is retained, most requests are resolved by confirming that nothing beyond a short lived log entry exists.
How will I know if this policy changes?
Any change is published on this page and the date below is updated. If the site ever adds analytics, affiliate tracking, or any other processing, that change will be described here before or when it takes effect.
